You will need someone to drive you home and stay with you for the first 24 hours after surgery. It can take a few days to recover fully after breast augmentation surgery. Most patients can manage any pain and discomfort with over-the-counter medications such as Tylenol and ibuprofen.

You will be encouraged to walk within a few days of your surgery to help your recovery. Still, you will need to avoid strenuous activities for at least four weeks. Your return to work depends on the type of work that you do.
